Thanksgiving travel delays pile Up like the rest

MIDTOWN-Thanksgiving travel delays starting light Wednesday as a New York hit the road for vacation-but it is starting to take as the day wore on.

Gloomy weather caused the postponement of the return of more than an hour to LaGuardia Airport after 5 PM and Newark seen delays almost 40 minutes, according to the FAA.

Motorists who headed the Verrazano to Staten Island is told to expect heavy volume of people who are trying to get out of town.

And those who take the George Washington Bridge, Holland Tunnel and saw a half-hour delay at one point.

While most trains run on time, many of Penn Station swells in the afternoon with people who want to take Amtrak, Long Island Rail Road and New Jersey transit trains to see their loved ones.
